Forest of Dean Golf Club
Within three miles of the hotel and with unique rolling parkland, lakes, streams,
bunkers and woodland, the Forest of Dean Golf Club par 70 eighteen hole golf course
(pictured left) provides a challenge to all categories of golfers and is a joy to
play.
Celtic Manor Resort
The new Celtic Manor Resort, the host of the Ryder Cup in 2010, outside Newport (35
minutes drive) hosts three 18 hole courses, two of which were designed by Robert
Trent Jones.
The Rolls of Monmouth
Local courses include The Rolls of Monmouth, just a few miles away, named after Charles
Stewart Rolls (one of the founders of Rolls-Royce) and situated at his former home.
The course offers 18 holes with a 6733 yardage.
The Ross-on-Wye Golf Club
The Ross-on-Wye Golf Club, situated just a few miles outside the town, has 18 holes
with a 6491 yardage.
Chepstow St Pierre Golf Course
One of the most popular courses in Wales, it has hosted many top tournaments since
opening in 1962, most recently the Solheim Cup in 1996. The course is set in 400
beautiful acres of parkland, with a 14th century manor house as an imposing backdrop.
